Well, it's a new year and plans are being made to have fun and enjoy another good year of bluegrass music. Things have started out great so far. On January 14th, SPBGMA held it's 38th annual Midwest Bluegrass Awards Show in Jefferson City, Missouri and Lonnie was named male vocalist (traditional) winner. A big Thank You goes out to all SPBGMA members for casting their votes. Kathy was also nominated for female vocalist (traditional) and Highway Home was nominated for Band Of The Year. Your nominations are a great motivation for the band.
We would like to take this time to introduce the newest member of Highway Home Bluegrass Band. Our banjo position is now in the very capable hands of Mike Carter from Indianola, Iowa. We are very excited to get this year going and think you will be pleased with his style and ability. Make sure to stop by and meet Mike and make him feel at home.
