HIGHWAY HOME is a group of hard working individuals with one common
goal. That goal is to get the smooth, simple sound of traditional bluegrass
music out to the people who want to hear "just" that. There is no leader or egos
in the group, just a circle of friends who love to make music.

LONNIE FULTS - Guitar, Lead & Harmony Vocals
Bluegrass music was
handed down to Lonnie by his family at a very young age. Lonnie is continuing
the tradition of his dad & uncles, staying true to that traditional bluegrass
sound. Lonnie's dedication this music was recognized in 2007 when SPBGMA awarded
Lonnie it's Male Vocalist of the Year (traditional) Midwest. Whether doing a hard-driving standard
or a story-telling ballad he sings it with the heart of a Bluegrass Man.
KATHY FULTS - Harmony Vocals
Kathy works at Thombert Inc. in Newton Iowa. She has no problem jumping in
feet first. Although she doesn't play an instrument (yet) her high tenor vocals
and distinct lead voice make up a huge part of Highway Home. Kathy was honored
by the SPBGMA bluegrass fans by being nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year
(traditional) Midwest. Her warm smile and sweet personality always make you feel
"right at home".
MARK DRUDGE - Banjo, Vocals
Mark is a 'newspaper guy" (that ain't no part of nothin) and can remember
the day he was struck by the bluegrass bug when he heard some guy named
"Ralph" playing the tar out of a banjo (that' Powerful). Since
that fateful day, Mark has been playing many of the finer kitchens and living
rooms across the west & Midwest and also with a western Colorado based band
"Homeward Bound". When not
playing music, Mark can usually be found fishing or underneath his 1971 Toyota Land
Cruiser.
JOHN PURK - Mandolin, Fiddle
John is no stranger to Central Iowa bluegrass. Hi s smooth clear mandolin
style makes music that is very "easy on the ears". John has been a
member of numerous bluegrass bands over the years and we are proud to have him
be part of Highway home. We're still trying to find a tune that John doesn't
know. We'll get back to you to let you know if we had any
luck.
Doug Page - Bass
Doug Page is another veteran of the central
Iowa music scene. He got his start as a classical string bass player over 35
years ago, but also took up an interest in bluegrass music, playing with the
likes of Wheelhoss, Grasslands, Pathfinder, and the Bluegrass Pals. Always with
a smile on his face, he keeps thumping out that rock solid rhythm. When not on
stage, Doug tries to keep up with his family at his home in Marion, and is very
involved as the music director at his Church
